Our History

Boatwright Building Consultants, Inc. began operation on May 1, 1979. Initially we provided engineering and inspection services in the Greater Los Angeles Area. We then expanded the areas we serve to Santa Barbara, Ventura, Riverside, Orange, and San Diego Counties. In 1994 we opened a second office in Colorado providing service to the Denver and Colorado Springs areas. Over the years we have added commercial building assessments and several types of specialty inspections that are frequently needed for commercial transactions. In addition, our engineering services have expanded to meet the demand for due-diligence seismic evaluations of real property.

Service, honesty and integrity are our company’s core values. We bring the same professionalism and attention to detail to all our work, whether providing a complex analysis of a building’s seismic resilience, or evaluating a luxury home, commercial facility, or apartment complex. Put simply, ‘We Pay Attention for a Living’®.

Since opening our doors we have investigated more than 50,000 properties amassing a wide-ranging client list that includes first time and seasoned buyers, banks, architects, professional athletes, actors, musicians, business managers, moguls, and developers. Our portfolio includes high profile properties such as the U.S. Olympic Training Center (Colorado Springs), Hotel Bel-Air (Bel-Air), Riviera Country Club (Pacific Palisades), Japanese Village Plaza (Downtown Los Angeles), and Ports O’ Call Village (San Pedro). A tacit recognition of the quality of work we provide is from the Los Angeles Board of Realtors who engaged us to evaluate their multi-story office complex. Our clients have even retained us to evaluate properties in Arizona, Indiana, Nevada, and Tennessee.
